A biotechnology internet firm wanted to reduce its
cost of operations, and hoped to do this by increasing productivity
as well as product and service quality. To do this, they needed
to strengthen the way they managed their primary production processes
so they could consistently achieve high quality results. My role
was to initiate and drive improvement of critical processes after
employees had taken training on process design and measurement.
In addition, I led cross-functional process improvement teams, initiated
user research processes, and supervised improvement of product development
processes based on feedback provided by customers. This work produced
measurable business results, including faster availability of data
for customer products, reduced production and service costs, and
increased software quality and ease of use.
